Biden Orders U.S. To Share Evidence Of Russian War Crimes With ICC
Washington D.C./27.07.23/Turan: U.S. President Joe Biden has reportedly ordered his administration to begin sharing evidence of Russian war crimes in Ukraine with the International Criminal Court, two top American Senators lauded the decision Wednesday night, TURAN's Washington correspondent reports.
In a statement, Dick Durbin, the Democratic chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and Lindsey Graham, the Republican ranking member of the panel, said that after pressing the administration for months, they are "pleased that the administration is finally supporting the ICC’s investigation.”
Earlier in May, Biden told TURAN's correspondent that Russia's Vladimir Putin has “clearly committed war crimes.” On May 17, the ICC issued war crimes warrant for Putin.
The U.S. is not a member of the ICC, and the Pentagon had previously blocked efforts to share evidence of war crimes amid concerns that it could open the door to the prosecution of U.S. troops deployed abroad.

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan rejected Ilham Aliyev's demands for Yerevan to stop acquiring weapons. "Armenia has acquired and will continue to acquire weapons solely for the purpose of self-defense. Over 200 square kilometers of our sovereign territory is under the control of Azerbaijan. And even to regain these territories, we do not intend to consider military action, but rather a process of demarcation. So, we are buying weapons and have no intention of sending them back," he stated.
