Board of Ministry of Internal Affairs: Crime rate is downing
On 31 July the Board of the Interior Ministry, summed up the results of the six months of the year. Deputy Minister Vilayat Eivazov, reported a decline of "criminal activity" in the country. The number of reported crimes in the reporting period amounted to 10,048, which is by 11.4% lower than last year; 48.3% of the are crimes against persons, 24.8% are looting. Crimes committed by organized groups decreased by 2.9, and crimes committed with a firearm reduced by13.5%.
The level of crime disclosure totaled 87.4%; 361 criminal group of 1,039 people and 10 organized criminal groups were rendered harmless.
Eighty three of counterfeit money and forged 300 tons of false food and building materials were revealed; 350 kg of drugs were confiscated, 28 groups of drug dealers in a total of 73 people were rendered harmless; 66 facts of human trafficking were revealed, two criminal groups were neutralized, 20 trafficking victims were sent to social rehabilitation.
Threefold increase of violations of traffic rules were fixed; 33.3% speeding violations, 32.3% - leaving the oncoming lane, 9.5% - crossing intersections, 3.1% - driving while drunk.
It was noted that in an election year the issue of identity cards to citizens has become more important.
The report also stated that the Internal troops guard the public order, and performed the task with responsibility, the deputy minister said.
In his closing speech, the Interior Minister, Ramil Usubov, noted that the activity of police is satisfactory. He called on the Ministry of Internal Affairs to further to performing the instructions and orders of the Commander in Chief. -02D-
