In the evening on July 31 the Press Service of the MFA of Azerbaijan confirmed the death of its employee Tural Gurbanov that occurred in the Maldives on July 25.
The cause of the death was heart failure, Turan was told by the spokesman. According to the same source, Gurbanov was on vacation.
Note that in the morning on July 31 neither the Foreign Ministry nor the Embassy in Germany, where he worked as second secretary, commented on the death of the diplomat, who was 27 years old. -03B-

27-year-old Second Secretary of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Germany Tural Gurbanov died July 25 at a hotel in the Maldives. This was told by the known blogger Emin Milli on Facebook. According to him, Gurbanov was in fact an employee of the special services and was ordered to kill the opposition blogger Habib Muntazeer, who has long lived in Germany and actively denounced the ruling regime in Azerbaijan.
According to Emin Milli, Gurbanov refused to kill Muntazeer and was eliminated by his bosses for it.
The query from Turan into the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry about the death of the diplomat was not answered. The press service promised to find out whether the death of the diplomat really took place.
The Azerbaijani Embassy in Germany, in response to the request to connect with Gurbanov, after a long pause, offered to call back in 2-3 hours and talk to the press secretary. On the question of whether the Embassy knows about Gurbanov’s death the girl in a calm and steady voice replied: "No, I do not know that. 30% of the Embassy staff is on leave now."
It is strange that the Embassy employee did not even ask about the source of the information about the death of her colleague.
The press service of the Ministry of National Security, as always, categorically denied publication in the press, calling it absurd. "We did not and do not have any employee by the name Tural Gurbanov," said the spokesman.
Meanwhile, the Maldives media reported that the body of an Azerbaijani citizen was found in one of the rooms of the hotel at 10:20 am. The cause of his death is not clear. The case is under investigation. -0 –
