British MP urged London to react to the case of Afgan Mukhtarly
Baku / 04.12.17 / Turan: Member of the British Parliament Peter Bottomli appealed to the government with an appeal to react to the case of Azerbaijani journalist Afgan Mukhtarly.
"Call on the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Commonwealth Affairs to express to representatives of official Baku their concern about the case of investigative journalist Afgan Mukhtarly," the MP said in a statement.
Official London should urge Baku to ensure a fair judicial investigation of the case of Mukhtarly, who was reportedly kidnapped on 29 May in Tbilisi and forcibly brought to Azerbaijan.
The MP also urged the official London to explain to the Azerbaijani authorities the role and importance of independent journalism. -16D-
