Civilian appointed Deputy Minister of Defense
Baku/13.12.22/Turan: By order of the head of state dated December 9, Agyl Gurbanov was appointed Deputy Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the country on Decemnber 13.
What areas he will oversee is not reported. Until now, Gurbanov has worked in the structures of Pasha Holding, in the Sumgayit Technopark and in the system of the special representative of the head of state in Zangelan.
This is the first time a civilian has been appointed to a senior position in the Ministry of Defense in the past 29 years. For the first time in 1992, Rahim Gaziyev became a civilian minister of defense in Azerbaijan. ---02D---

The health condition of activist Nijat Ibrahim has sharply worsened while he remains in Baku's Detention Center No. 1, his wife Parvin Ibrahim told Turan news agency. According to her, Ibrahim called today to report severe back pain, and he can barely move. Recently, his blood pressure has also risen, and doctors have diagnosed him with hypertension.

On Sunday, November 5, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Kyrgyzstan to participate in the 11th Summit of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States.
