Co-Chairs of the OSCE MG discussed with Elmar Mammadyarov issue of civilian flights
The Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group (Ambassadors Igor Popov of the Russian Federation, Jacques Faure of France, and Ian Kelly of the United States of America) met on March 2 with the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Elmar Mammadyarov, and on March 3 with the Foreign Minister of Armenia, Edward Nalbandian. The Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk, also participated in the meetings.
The Co-Chairs repeated their concerns regarding the issue of civilian flights to Nagorno-Karabakh and the recent violence on the Line of Contact. They also discussed ideas to strengthen the ceasefire.
The Co-Chairs will travel to the region in the coming weeks to discuss with the Presidents next steps aimed at reaching a peaceful resolution of the conflict. -0-

A preparatory hearing in the case of former leaders of the Karabakh separatists began the day before at the Baku Court Complex. The case is being heard by a panel of judges chaired by Zeynal Agayev, the judge of the Baku Military Court.The accused were provided with lawyers and Armenian language interpreters, AZERTAC reported. Six prosecutors participated in the court session as state representatives.

The gas pipeline from Russia to Iran will pass through Azerbaijan, its route has been agreed upon. Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev told reporters, TASS reports.

Ilham Aliyev congratulated Irakli Kobakhidze on the victory of the Georgian Dream party in the elections and wished him continued success. "The victory of your party is of particular significance for the entire South Caucasus, making it a more stable region, and we rejoice in this victory as your friends and brothers. We wish your government new successes in its work," said Aliyev during a joint briefing following talks and the signing of bilateral documents.
