Customs officers of Azerbaijan, Iran and Russia agree to facilitate transit
Baku/22.08.22/Turan: A trilateral meeting of the customs services of Azerbaijan, Iran and Russia was held in Tehran. The Azerbaijani embassy in Iran reported that the meeting was attended by the head of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan Shahin Baghirov, the head of the Iranian customs Alireza Mogaddasi and the head of the Federal Customs Service of Russia Vladimir Bulavin.
As a result, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed to facilitate the transit of goods. To coordinate work in this direction, it is planned to create a committee with the participation of representatives of the three parties.
The agreement will create additional opportunities to ensure the continuity of the international trade and supply chain, expand the North-South transport corridor, and simplify customs operations at border crossing points on the Iran-Azerbaijan-Russia route.
During the meeting, it was noted that the newly created roads and logistics centers in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan will give impetus to increasing the country's transit capabilities.
According to the memorandum, the parties plan to actively use the electronic information exchange system to facilitate customs procedures. --16D06--
