Czech Embassy in Baku Opens Visa Application Center
The Czech Embassy in Azerbaijan announced the opening of the Visa Application Center in Baku in order to improve services to citizens. In this connection, the procedure of submitting documents will be modified.
From 6 April 2015 it will be possible to apply for a visa as the Visa Application Center and the Consular Section of the Embassy only after appointment. Recording will take place from Monday to Friday at 09.00-13.00 and 14.00-16.00 by phone +994 12 404 76 38.
Filing after the appointment begins on April 27, 2015. As of this date, without an appointment, documents for a visa will not be taken by the Consulate Department of the Embassy of the Czech Republic or by the Visa Application Center.
The Visa Center will start working from 27 April 2015 at the address: Baku, Demirci Tower, Avenue Khojaly 37, 2nd floor (near the metro station Khatai).

Acceptance of documents will be carried out from Monday to Friday at the office hours: 09.00-16.00. Issuing passports - from Monday to Friday at 11.00-17.00. The break is at 13.00-14.00.
Visa Application Center will accept documents only for short-term Schengen visas. Long-term visas and notary services (certification of documents, signatures, etc.) will be issued by the Consular Section of the Embassy, as before.

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) today issued five rulings on applications from Azerbaijan. The case of "Afgan Mammadov v. Azerbaijan" concerned the complainant's exclusion from the Bar Association. Mammadov was expelled based on a complaint filed by a colleague, which he considered unjust. The ECHR ruled that Mammadov's rights had been violated and ordered Azerbaijan to pay him €5,000 in compensation for moral damage and €1,000 to cover legal costs.

During the ongoing COP29 climate conference in Baku on November 14, a group of activists staged a protest condemning Russia's aggression against Ukraine. The activists also denounced countries that supply oil and weapons to nations waging aggressive wars. The protest featured placards with slogans such as: "From fossil fuels to peace!", "End war crimes!", "Punish the aggressor!", and "Phase out fossil fuel use to achieve peace!" among others.
