David Lidington about the arrest Khadija Ismailova
British Minister for Europe David Lidington in his blog commented on the situation of human rights in Azerbaijan. "Last month I visited Azerbaijan, where there are still persecution of freedom of expression and media. The case of Khadija Ismailova is a continuation of the systematic persecution of journalists. However, Azerbaijan is not the only country violating the freedom of independent media," writes Lidington.
He expressed serious concern in connection with the situation in Russia. Among the partly free countries Lidington called Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan.
