Delegation of Ministry of Defense of Russian Federation to discuss in Yerevan the timing of RPC withdrawal from Karabakh
Baku/06.10.23/Turan: A delegation of the Russian Defense Ministry will visit Yerevan on Friday to discuss the timing of the withdrawal of the Russian peacekeeping contingent from Karabakh. This is reported by TASS with reference to a diplomatic source.
"A delegation of the Russian Defense Ministry will visit Yerevan today. At the meeting with the Armenian side, the specific timing of the withdrawal of the Russian peacekeeping contingent (RPC) from Nagorno-Karabakh will be discussed," TASS said.
In turn, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin said that Moscow is waiting for the report of the one-day UN mission that visited Karabakh last Sunday.
"The one-day UN mission, in fact, did what is possible in this situation, and this is a survey of residents and an inspection of how much the incident affected the infrastructure, primarily civilian facilities in Nagorno-Karabakh," he said. "So far, what has been received [from the mission report] indicates that there is no serious destruction and that religious buildings are not damaged, and so on," the Russian diplomat said. -06B-
