Did the Armenian “Iskanders” fire or not?
Baku/26.02.21/Turan: The well-known statement of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan about low-quality “Iskanders” missiles, which, according to his version, did not explode during the Second Karabakh war, may cost him an armchair.
It is noteworthy that high-ranking military personnel in Armenia and Russia make diametrically opposite statements on this matter. The Armenian generals also contradict each other, some of whom say that they fired rockets, and others that they did not fire. So, after Pashinyan's words, the former chief of the General Staff, Movses Hakobyan, repeated his previous statement that the “Iskanders” were fired three times, at the end of the war and at Shusha.
Moreover, he said this after the refutation of the representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense Konoshenkov that the “Iskanders” were not used during the war, and are located at the base.
Today the head of Azerbaijan also touched upon this topic, saying that the “Iskander” was not used. In this case, Armenian generals are talking about the use of these missiles, expressing dissatisfaction either with their quality, or with the delay in using the missiles.
Apparently, the Russian side was outraged by the fact that the subject of discussion was the question of the poor quality missile systems, with which Moscow has long frightened the whole world. It seems that the Armenians cannot be forgiven for this very thing, that they wash dirty linen in public in Yerevan.
In turn, some sources in Moscow hinted that Moscow retained control over these missiles and could make sure that they did not explode or exploded in the wrong place. An indirect confirmation of this version was the today's statement of Ilham Aliyev that Azerbaijan was ready to launch missile strikes on Yerevan and other cities of Armenia, if the Armenians did not stop rocket attacks on Azerbaijani cities.
In any case, it is hard to believe that Pashinyan was "misinformed" in this matter. He not only made a statement, but accused Serge Sargsyan, during whose rule the Iskanders were obtained. The same Movses Hakobyan said that Russian specialists periodically check the condition of the missiles and if they were faulty, they should have replaced them.
Here it is appropriate to recall another admission by another ex-president of Armenia Robert Kocharian that the S-300 systems located in Karabakh were faulty. It was necessary to replace some parts, but for two years, the leadership of Karabakh did not agree with the Russians on this.
It seems that Moscow has supplied Armenia with fake equipment, not real weapons. -02B-
