E. Mammadyarov: negotiations with the EU on visa facilitation are coming to end
Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister, Elmar Mammadyarov, attended the fourth meeting of the foreign ministers of the "Eastern Partnership" and the EU in Brussels.
According to the Foreign Ministry's website, the meeting was presided over by the vice-president of the European Commission, Catherine Ashton, and Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy, Stefan Fule.
The meeting was also attended by Foreign Ministers of the EU Member States, representatives of the European External Action Service, the European Investment Bank, and the Civil Society Forum of the Eastern Partnership.
In his speech Elmar Mammadyarov spoke about the prospects of dialogue between the EU and Azerbaijan, on the progress in the negotiations on the Association Agreement, and other matters.
He also noted that negotiations on visa facilitation and readmission agreements with the EU are coming to an end, and stressed the importance of their signing before the summit in Vilnius.
Mammadyarov also noted that the decisions taken by the Southern Gas Corridor will strengthen the energy security of the EU, and will create even more opportunities in political and economic relations with the EU.
Mammadyarov also noted the importance of cooperation with the EU in the field of education by offering to take serious steps in this sphere.-16D04-
