Elmar Mammadyarov Spoke at the Forum of the American Jewish Committee
During his visit to the United States, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov on June 2 took part in the annual global forum of the American Jewish Committee.
Speaking at the opening session of the Forum, Mammadyarov said expanding bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the United States and Israel. He praised the contribution of U.S. Jewish organizations in the development of Azerbaijan's relations with America and Israel.
Describing the Azerbaijani-Israeli ties as a relationship of close friendship, Mammadyarov said that they are based on historically good relations, mutual understanding between the two peoples and made in recent years fruitful trade and economic cooperation.
Mammadyarov said that the Jewish community of Azerbaijan for more than 2,500 years has been living in the country in peace and tranquility, without feeling any restrictions.
At the same time, the Azerbaijani Minister referred to the barriers to full co-operation, such as non-settlement of the Karabakh conflict and Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan.
At the same time, Azerbaijan not being a permanent member of the UN Security Council makes every effort to foster peace in the region.
Mammadyarov reminded about his recent visit to Israel.

According to lawyer Zibeida Sadigova, Ibrahim was taken to court in handcuffs. There were guards sitting next to him throughout the whole process.
