EU Donates another Batch of Medical Supplies to Azerbaijan to fight COVID-19
Baku / 25.12.20 / Turan: The Delegation of the European Union in Azerbaijan announced the provision of another batch of assistance in the fight against COVID-19.
The EU and WHO reportedly handed over 52 hospital monitors, 258 nasal oxygen cannulas, 258 venturi masks, 123 pulse oximeters, spare parts for medical preparations, and 987,000 pairs of gloves for medical workers to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Health.
The aid was donated within the framework of the Solidarity for Health Initiative project.
The head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan Kestutis Jankauskas said this is the third and fourth cargo that is transferred to Azerbaijan and it is another indicator of partnership and teamwork between the EU, WHO and Azerbaijan.
In parallel, WHO donated 1 million medical masks to the Ministry of Health as part of a campaign to donate 2.5 million masks to medical institutions, government institutions and NGOs that work with sensitive groups. Prior to that, 1 million masks were transferred to TABIB, 250 thousand masks to the Main Medical Directorate of the Ministry of Justice, 100 thousand to the Agency for Social Services, the Public Association for Helping Women - Clean World and the public association Health Service. –71D-

On November 28, another hearing took place in the case of public activist Ilhamiz Guliyev. During the proceedings, the court reviewed a response from the 28th Police Station of the Yasamal District in Baku. At the previous hearing, the defense had requested that the court obtain footage from the surveillance cameras at this police station, where Guliyev was taken on December 4 of last year. However, the police response stated that the video footage had not been preserved.
