Foreign Minister: London interferes in our affairs
Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry accused official London of meddling in internal affairs. So Baku regarded the British Foreign Ministry statement dated May 28, condemning the verdict on the civic activists Anar Mammadli, Bashir Suleymanli and Elnur Mammadov.
"This is interference in the work of independent judiciary and the pressure completely unacceptable," the statement said.
"These persons are convicted for offenses to evade the payment of taxes and illegal business, and their crimes have been proven in court.
The court's verdict has no relation to the political activities of these individuals, and generally in Azerbaijan no one is blamed for their political views and activities," says the Foreign Ministry.
In this regard, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry calls on the Foreign Affairs Office of the United Kingdom "to refrain from undue interference in internal affairs and pay attention to the issue of human rights in their own country." -02D-
