The European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Fule made a statement on the recent events in Turkey, according to Turkish website haber.com.
Fule accused Erdogan of virtual elimination of judicial independence, which is the rule for the European Union.
Fule said that compliance with these standards is one of the main requirements for the entry of Turkey into the EU.
The European Commissioner also recommended that Erdogan shape the police system.
In turn, the British newspaper The Telegraph quoted the following words by Fule:
"Police should independently investigate the case and should not put anyone aware of this, because it is contrary to the principle of separation of powers. The current situation in Turkey proves once again the need to create the right police system in this country." -05D04-
