Gambar Cooperates with Youth

The leader of the party Musavat Isa Gambar, on Saturday held a meeting with young people at the headquarters of the party. However, the assembly hall not accommodate everyone and so, monitors have been installed in the hallway of the building, which brought together some of the participants of the meeting.

As the head of the youth organization of Musavat,. Tural Abbasli told Turan, the Baku mayor's office ignored to provide ample access for the meeting between Gambar and the youth.

At the meeting, Gambar said that, historically, youth has always been at the forefront of movements for progressive change. So, it was in the late 1980s, when the national democratic movement started in Azerbaijan. This tradition continues today, when young people are at the forefront of the struggle for democracy in Azerbaijan.

The last days’ repression against young activists was regarded by Gambar as the fear of the authorities of the political activities of the youth.

However, young people are no longer intimidated by the repression. Evidence of this is the fact that after the arrest of 4 activists of NIDA, the organization has been joined by more than 150 people.

Referring to the recent increase in soldiers' deaths in non-combat circumstances, Gambar said that these events "shocked the society" and proposed a commission to investigate the causes of death of the soldiers.

In general, to solve the problems of the country, Gambar considers important the establishment of people's power. The way to a bloodless change of power is through free and fair elections. But in order to create conditions for democratic elections, he noted the necessity of peaceful mass protests.

"However, the authorities chose to persecute the opposition and too the course of Gaddafi, Hosni Mubarak, and Bashar al-Assad," he said.

Speaking about the upcoming presidential elections, Gambar said that the party is working on the election platform and the formation of a strong team.

In the case of coming to power, Gambar promised to rely on young professionals aged 25-35. "We want young people to form a government, and I hope that we will have the strength in this," said Gambar. -05C-
