Hyrcan forests are included in the world heritage list
Baku / 07.07.19 / Turan: By the decision of the 43rd meeting of the World Heritage Committee in Baku, the Ecological Region "Mixed Forests of the Caspian Hyrcan" has been included on the World Heritage List.
This is an area of deciduous and mixed forests on an area of 55,000 square kilometers in the south of Azerbaijan and the Iranian coast of the Caspian Sea. These forests are recognized as possessing unique flora and fauna. In particular, it is only here that the famous Iron Tree grows under natural conditions - Damiragach.-02D-
