I. Aliyev: there will the third program for development of regions (UPDATED)
Third state program of social and economic development for the next five years will be adopted, said Ilham Aliyev on February 5 at traditional annual conference dedicated to the implementation of the second state program on development of regions for 2009-2014. The first program was designed for 2004-2009 years.
Aliyev said that over the past 10 years, the Azerbaijani economy grew by 3.4 times, and industrial production by 2.7 times. Three quarters of the economy of the South Caucasus is in Azerbaijan today.
"Last year, the Azerbaijani economy was invested a record $ 28 billion, and domestic investment prevailed over foreign," said Aliyev, and noted that he personally participated in the opening 1,200 objects.
During this period 17 power plants were built, 90 % of the country was gasified, major projects on road construction have been implemented. Projects in the field of drinking water supply and sewerage systems were implemented successfully. Works in this area will be expanded in the coming five years.
Over the past 10 years, the country built or repaired 2,700 schools, and more than 500 medical institutions, constructed 41 Olympic Complexes and numerous cultural objects.

Baku/05.02.14/Turan : Ilham Aliyev chaired Wednesday an annual conference dedicated to the implementation of the state program of socio-economic development of regions for 2009-2014 .
Participating in the conference were members of the government , heads of executive authorities of cities and regions .
Note that in the last year at a similar conference the president criticized the leaders of districts for harassment of businessmen who are forced to fund improvement works and urged officials to modesty.
However, according to information from social networks and media, the tyranny of bureaucrats has not decreased. Because of injustice and arbitrariness of local authorities across the country swept a series of acts of self-immolation as a protest against violations of the rights of ordinary people. -06D--
