Iftar in the U.S. ambassador"s residence

July 10, U.S. Ambassador gave an Iftar dinner at his residence. The event was attended by the deputy head of the Caucasian Muslims Office Salman Musayev, representatives of religious communities, MPs, members of the public.

U.S. Ambassador Richard Morningstar said that the month of Ramadan gives people the opportunity to offer prayers and to assist the poor. He highlighted religious tolerance and mutual respect in Azerbaijan.

Salman Musayev in turn, said that Ramadan is a month, which gives people the opportunity to take care of each other. This is a month when wars are terminated without bloodshed. However, unfortunately, in some Muslim countries there is a war. "We will pray to Allah that the blood is not shed. I wish hegemonic states stepped up their efforts to prevent wars," Musayev said. -03C04-
