Ilham Aliyev congratulated Donald Trump
Baku / 03.07.18 / Turan: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev sent a congratulatory message to Donald Trump on the occasion of the US national holiday - Independence Day.
Azerbaijan and the US unite friendly and partnership relations, the countries closely and effectively cooperate in countering regional threats and terrorism, security issues, as well as in the economic sphere, the message says.
In the energy sector, cooperation is particularly significant. Aliyev is satisfied with the US support of Azerbaijan's oil and gas projects, which serve to diversify energy sources and transport routes.
The newly commissioned Southern Gas Corridor is an important contribution to the energy security of Europe. At the same time, the most painful problem of Azerbaijan , the Karabakh conflict, remains unsolved.
Azerbaijan attaches great hopes to increasing efforts on the part of the United States as co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, and Trump personally for a peaceful and just settlement of the conflict in accordance with the norms of international law within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, the message says. -06D--
