Ilham Aliyev Congratulated Vladimir Putin
Baku / 03/19/18 / Turan: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev congratulated Vladimir Putin on his reelection as head of the Russian Federation.
"I cordially congratulate you on your convincing victory in the presidential elections of the Russian Federation, which testifies to your high political authority and active support of your course aimed at ensuring stability, law and order in the country, implementing large-scale reforms and long-term social programs that promote well-being of the people," the congratulatory message reads.
Aliyev also notes that Azerbaijan and Russia are bound by "centuries-old close ties of friendship and good-neighborliness."
"It is gratifying that our interstate relations are successfully developing on this solid foundation today, I want to especially note your personal contribution to the expansion of these relations, the Azerbaijani-Russian all-round cooperation and interaction in general," Aliyev stressed.
He expressed confidence that the joint efforts of the two countries' leaders to further strengthen the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Russia will continue to contribute to "the interests of our peoples and countries, ensuring peace, security and progress in the region."
During the March 18 presidential elections in Russia, according to preliminary data, Putin confidently wins and for the 4th time becomes President of Russia. -06D--
