Ilham Aliyev familiarized himself with the progress of work on the implementation of the hydrocarbon production project at the Central Asia
Baku/04.04.23/Turan: A ceremony of symbolic sending of the upper modules of the Central Eastern Azeri (CEA) platform to the sea took place today at the Bayil construction and installation site with the participation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
Earlier, the support block of the CEA platform was sent to sea in March of this year.
Production of the first oil under the CEA project is planned in the first quarter of 2024.
The project is being implemented in accordance with the extension in 2017 of the Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) for the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields until 2049.
The goal of the CEA project is to achieve daily peak production of up to 100 thousand barrels of oil and 350 thousand cubic feet of gas by drilling additional wells and installing additional offshore facilities.
It is assumed that during the operational period of the project, the cost of which is estimated at $ 6 billion, as a whole, up to 300 million barrels of oil will be produced.
The ceremony was also attended by BP Regional President for Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey Gary Jones and Neil Phillips, General Director of the Central Eastern Azeri project, who informed the head of state about the measures to implement the project. ---06B---
