Ilham Aliyev Meeting with French Businessmen
Baku / 10.07.19 / Turan: On July 10, President Ilham Aliyev received a large group of French businessmen, members of the MEDEF organization.
During the conversation, Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan seeks to diversify its economy, to reduce its dependence on oil and gas - this is one of the main priorities. He encouraged French entrepreneurs to participate in these processes.
In turn, MEDEF President Geoffroi Ru Vou Bessio said that French business is interested in Azerbaijan. Together with him, representatives of 40 companies in the fields of banking, energy, environment and modern technologies arrived in Baku.
The head of SUEZ, Marie-Ange Dobon, spoke about the progress of cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of water supply. She expressed her willingness to expand cooperation and implement new projects.
During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the prospects for cooperation in the fields of energy, transport, agriculture, renewable energy and high technologies. -02D-

Journalist Nargiz Abaslamova, held in Baku's Detention Center No. 1, was subjected to violence by a guard. While passing by the cell of her colleague Sevinj Vagifgizi, Abaslamova tried to greet her, reported on Abzas Media's Facebook page. However, guard Aygul Babaeva forcibly dragged Abaslamova away and deeply scratched the journalist's arm. Abaslamova stated that this is not the first time the mentioned guard has used force and been rude to journalists. A few days ago, Babaeva also used force against Sevinj Vagifgizi.
