Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of the new Ambassador of Bulgaria
Baku/07.03.23/Turan: President Ilham Aliyev today received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bulgaria Ruslan Stoyanov, the website of the head of state reports.
Stressing that Azerbaijan and Bulgaria are strategic partners, Aliyev expressed confidence that "bilateral relations will continue to develop." He focused on cooperation in the energy sector, pointing out the importance of the Southern Gas Corridor project.
Aliyev stressed that the implementation of joint projects allowed Bulgaria to become a transit country for Azerbaijani gas. Along with the energy sector, there is potential for the development of cooperation in other areas. In this regard? Aliyev pointed out the need to make efforts to increase trade turnover.
He also noted the role of Bulgaria in cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union and between Azerbaijan and NATO.
Ambassador Stoyanov, in turn, said that Azerbaijan is a strategic partner for Bulgaria. Touching upon energy cooperation, the Ambassador noted the importance of commissioning the Greece-Bulgaria gas interconnector, which ensured the reliability of hydrocarbon supplies from Azerbaijan to this country. ---06B---
