On December 12 Ilham Aliyev received President of the International Equestrian Federation, Princess of Jordan, Haya bint Al Hussein. The princess conveyed greetings of King Abdullah II and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Emir of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. They discussed issues of holding in Baku a meeting of the General Assembly of the International Equestrian Federation. The meeting was attended by the commander of frontier troops Elchin Guliyev, who concurrently the head of the Equestrian Federation. -02D-

On February 13, the Appeal Court did not satisfy the defense's appeal against the decision of the Khatai Court regarding the arrest of journalist Shahnaz Beylargizi. According to the lawyer, the journalist herself did not participate in the trial due to poor health. The defense intends to submit a petition to replace the arrest with house arrest.
