Ilham Aliyev: "We Do Not Have to Integrate Anywhere"
Azerbaijan successfully completes 2015 on all socio-economic indicators at a high level, said Ilham Aliyev, speaking Wednesday to the public in Zagatala.
Experiencing the world financial and economic crisis has been going on for several years, and now we should add to it a political and military crisis, he said.
In such a situation, each country has to think seriously about its own safety.
"Safety is ensured in Azerbaijan at a high level. Promote stability, strengthened unity between the people and the authorities. The last parliamentary elections once again confirmed this," Aliyev continued.
In his view, the parliamentary elections were conducted with high activity. "At the same time we were provided with all democratic norms. Fair and transparent elections have shown once again how committed we are to the democratic development of Azerbaijan," Aliyev said.
He further criticized the new Europe, which "is going through a moral crisis." Europe is not committed to the values it enshrined. Look at the suffering of migrants - refugees, Muslims, their dignity humiliated, intolerable, unacceptable steps taken against them.
Their countries had been destroyed as a result of foreign intervention, they lost tens, hundreds of thousands of loved ones, millions of people became refugees and now seeking asylum in Europe. And there on their way barriers are built, barbed wires are stretched, they are pursued with dogs, locked in cages and thrown food there. These intolerable actions in the XXI century are not honor for anyone, " Aliyev said.
While Europe does not solve the problem, it may not raise claims to other countries, he said.
"On the other hand, it is religious confrontation, not the migrant crisis, it is a sign of Islamophobia, anti-Muslim propaganda results in recent years, which could lead to more problems and a clash between civilizations," Aliyev said.
"I have repeatedly said that we do not have anywhere to integrate. We have built a strong state on our national values and established equal relations with all countries. Especially today, in the period of discrimination, Islamophobia, there is no need for integration," Aliyev said, adding that European aid to Azerbaijan is not needed.
"We just made ourselves. We do not expect any help from anywhere, this is not necessary. Let no one interfere in our affairs, not try to speak to us the language of dictation. All the same, such attempts are useless," said Aliyev. -06D-
