Ilham Aliyev: We Must Refer to Experience of Leading Countries
Visiting the Tovuz region, President Ilham Aliyev participated in the opening of a number of facilities – a water reservoir with a useful capacity of 18 million cubic meters and an area of 160 hectares. This facility will enable to irrigate 20 thousand hectares of farmland.
According to Aliyev, this and a number of new reservoirs will improve the water security of Azerbaijan, increase agricultural productivity and ensure food security.
"The global crisis will last a long time. Our region is experiencing an economic and in some cases a military and political crisis. Azerbaijan is a space of stability and development. Although our revenues declined significantly, we need to work even more effectively. I am confident that through the development of, in particular, agriculture, processing and industrial sectors we will achieve economic progress," said Aliyev, speaking to the public of the Tovuz region.
"At this stage, the priority issues are the development of entrepreneurship and the deepening of radical reforms. All financial and economic mechanisms in Azerbaijan must rely on the experience of the leading countries of the world. The development of the financial and economic sector will allow us to be independent from oil prices," he added. -02D-
