Informal CIS Summit Ended with Mutual Congratulations
Baku / 27.12.17 / Turan: The informal summit of CIS heads of state was held in Novo Ogarevo near Moscow on December 26. Participants of the meeting exchanged views on issues of development and cooperation in various fields, REN TV reports.
According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the CIS countries have achieved an excellent result. He noted the year was fruitful - agreements entered into force in the field of innovation, nuclear power, and transport security. In addition, the heads of state also touched upon the international agenda.
The CIS leaders congratulated Putin on completing a successful operation in Syria and on Russia's special services in the fight against international terrorism.
Putin assured that Russia, along with its partners, will continue to work on solving the tasks of social and economic development, strengthening the stability and security of the CIS countries.
He noted a significant increase in trade turnover between the countries, which, he said, increased by almost a quarter, and efforts to combat terrorism and organized crime.
According to TASS, Putin believes the deepening of cooperation between the countries of the Commonwealth meets the interests of their nations.
At the end of the meeting, the Presidents congratulated each other on the upcoming New Year. For the CIS summit next year, they will gather already in Tajikistan, which has received the chairmanship in the CIS. -0-
