International Conference: the State and Religion
On December 19-21, Baku will host an international conference "The State and Religion: Increased tolerance in a changing world."
According to the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, the aim of this conference is to familiarize people with international experience in the regulation of state-religion relations, and to strengthen the elements of tolerance.
This will be the first such event in Azerbaijan with participation of numerous experts on religion in different countries, as well as local specialists. -05D-

On February 13, the Appeal Court did not satisfy the defense's appeal against the decision of the Khatai Court regarding the arrest of journalist Shahnaz Beylargizi. According to the lawyer, the journalist herself did not participate in the trial due to poor health. The defense intends to submit a petition to replace the arrest with house arrest.
