Baku/06.10.22/Turan: Footage depicting tortures by Armenian and Azerbaijani servicemen is being studied. A joint investigative group has been set up, Azerbaijani Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev said at a press conference on Thursday.
The press release of the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan says that videos published on social networks where the Azerbaijani military insult the bodies of Armenian servicemen killed in combat, as well as the inhumane treatment of captured Armenian servicemen, have been analyzed by the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan. Some videos were found to be fake and do not reflect reality, the Prosecutor General's Office said in a statement.
According to the investigation, 2 servicemen of the Azerbaijani armed forces committed insulting acts over the corpses of Armenian servicemen during the fighting in the Zangilan region. They recorded these actions on a mobile phone and sent them to other people and on social networks.
The fact of the destruction of 2 tombstones by servicemen in the village of Medatli in the Khojavend region was investigated.
Criminal cases have been initiated against these individuals, the investigation has been completed and sent to military courts.
In spite of the fact that the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan officially announced the initiation of criminal cases on the above-mentioned incidents and the prosecution of the perpetrators, similar incidents were not investigated by the Armenian side and the perpetrators were not brought to justice, the press release says. -02D-
