Baku/07.06.21/Turan: IRFS calls on the authorities of Azerbaijan and Armenia, and the employers of journalists Siraj Abishov and Maharram Aliyev to pay adequate compensation to the families of the victims and insure, from now on, the lives of all journalists sent to the conflict zones. IRFS demands that the Armenian authorities hand over to Azerbaijan the plans and maps of the mined areas
Over the past 7 months, 50 people accidentally set off landmines in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan around Nagorno-Karabakh, of which 18 were killed in the detonations. As a result of demining, over the past six months, it was possible to find and neutralize about 20 thousand mines and other unexploded ammunition. According to experts, more than 100 thousand landmines have not yet been defused and it will take years to complete demining.—06D-
