Islamic Party: we need not pardon, but amnesty
The Islamic Party of Azerbaijan (IPA) are disappointed by presidential decree of pardon, which did not affect the activists of this organization.
"Of course, any act of pardon is good news, positive step. Unfortunately, however, the pardon affected a very small number of believers and did not affect the members of the Islamic Party," said the first deputy chairman of the IPA.
According to him, the IPA believes it is more appropriate to release the imprisoned not on the basis of pardon, but to declare amnesty under the Criminal Code. This will help to release a wide range of people, including leaders and activists of the Islamic party.
However, Akhmedov praised pardon of religious figures from Ganja, Azer Cabiyeva and Fakhri Ilyasov. -05B06-
