Istanbul prosecutor and his deputies deposed
The Istanbul Chief Prosecutor Turan Cholakkady and twenty senior prosecutors were transferred to other posts on the background of the corruption scandal that has shaken the country, Turkish media reported .
Senior prosecutors were transferred to other posts, according to the statement of the Supreme Council of Judges and Prosecutors of the country. So, Turan Cholakkady was appointed chief prosecutor of the regional court in Istanbul. In addition, positions were lost by 12 heads of security of Turkey and their deputies.
Personnel changes in the prosecutor's office were carried out against the background of the development of the government bill that makes judges and prosecutors in dependent on the Ministry of Justice, as well as transferring many of the functions of the Supreme Council of Judges and Prosecutors personally to the Minister.
The bill, which is planned to be added to the Constitution, is opposed by the legal community of the country , as well as opposition parties .
Prior to this, the Erdogan government shifted or dismissed from the police force about 100 officers , prosecutors and judges.
