It is unacceptable to speak with Azerbaijan in the language of threats – Baku`s message to Washington
Baku/02.11.23/Turan: The United States, being a mediator for decades, has never so resolutely supported the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan as they are doing now with respect to Armenia, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesman Ayhan Hajizade stated commenting on the opinion of the US State Department published in the media, which "confirmed the strong support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Armenia."
"We stressed that any violation of this sovereignty and territorial integrity will entail serious consequences. We regularly emphasize our expectations, for example, warnings against the use of force, and constantly monitor the situation," the State Department said in response to a request from the Armenian service of "Voice of America."
"The United States, in accordance with international obligations, including within the framework of 4 UN Security Council resolutions, has never called for the liberation of Azerbaijani territories from occupation and the withdrawal of the Armenian armed forces," Hajizade said.
It is unacceptable to speak with Azerbaijan in the language of threats, he added. "Any unfriendly actions against Azerbaijan will not bring a positive result, and an adequate response will be given to such actions," he said. --06B--
