James Warlick: Occupied Territories of Azerbaijan Should Be Liberated
The Comprehensive Peace Agreement shall imply withdrawal from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, the definition of status of Nagorno-Karabakh and other issues, the US co-chair of OSCE Minsk Group James Warlick told the media in Baku today.
He called on the parties to do everything possible to start work on a comprehensive peace agreement. This requires "political will," Warlick said.
"We need to do everything possible to find a solution to this conflict and we are ready to discuss all the proposals on the ways to implement it with the parties," he said.
However, peaceful settlement is impossible without a ceasefire. MG wants to see "real commitment of the parties and their political will to move forward in resolving the conflict."
The Co-Chairs are ready to create opportunities to meet the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia. The mediator said the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs will leave for Khankendi tomorrow, from where they will visit Yerevan.
In Baku, they were received by the President, Foreign Minister and Defense Minister of Azerbaijan.
According to official reports, the leadership of Azerbaijan showed a tough stance in these negotiations. -06D-
