Jeyhun Bayramov meets with Louis Bono
Baku/17.04.23/Turan: Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Louis Bono, the US State Department's senior adviser at the Caucasus talks, on Monday in Baku, as reported by Turan.
The meeting focused on the prospects for negotiations on a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as other components of the Azerbaijani-Armenian normalization process, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, Bayramov highlighted Armenia's failure to fulfill its obligations under the trilateral statement signed on November 10, 2020 by the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and the Russian Federation. He specifically mentioned the incomplete withdrawal of Armenian forces from Azerbaijani territory and the continued occupation of eight Azerbaijani villages in Gazakh and Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Bayramov also raised concern over the capture of two Azerbaijani soldiers by Armenia, and the use of physical violence against one of them. He emphasized the importance of their immediate release.
The parties also discussed other issues of mutual interest during the meeting. ---06B---
