Joint exercises of the Navy of Russia and Azerbaijan in the Caspian Sea
Russia and Azerbaijan for the first time will hold joint exercises with the participation of up to ten surface ships and vessels in the Caspian Sea , RIA Novosti reported with reference to the press service of the Southern Military District.
"In the course of consultations, the representatives of military delegations agreed to hold in the central part of the Caspian Sea in September 2015 exercises on the theme: "Joint action for the protection of objects of maritime economic activities in the Caspian Sea," said the statement.
During the military exercises will be developed interactions between the ships of the Caspian Flotilla of Russia and Azerbaijan "to ensure the safety of shipping and the international marine activities, joint artillery firing at air and sea targets, emergency relief ship," the report says. -16D-
