Martin Schulz - internal structure of Azerbaijan and Belarus - is contrary to European values
In the EU there is no consensus about the future of the program "Eastern Partnership," said European Parliament President Martin Schulz on Friday in Riga. "With regard to Russia, we adhere to a single line, but we have a common approach to "Eastern Partnership", quoted by RIA-Novosti Schultz. The politician noted that participation in the "Eastern Partnership" of Azerbaijan and Belarus restricts the program, as the internal structure of these countries is contrary to European values.
In this sense, the summit was only an intermediate step. "Eastern Partnership" to countries like Azerbaijan and Belarus, where the internal structure of the incompatible with the EU and our core values, and aggravates the summit," said Schultz.
The "Eastern Partnership" provides for political association and economic integration between the EU and Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. The last three countries last year signed an agreement on associated partnership with the EU. -02D-
