Karabakh Armenians refute claims of talks on reintegration to Azerbaijan
Baku/03.03.23/Turan: Karabakh separatists reject the claims of the Azerbaijani side that during the talks on March 1 in Khojaly, issues of reintegration of Karabakh Armenians into Azerbaijan were discussed. Thus, on March 3, the "Security Council" of Karabakh issued a statement, stating that "urgent humanitarian issues" were discussed at the meeting.
According to the same source, the head of the Working Group on Negotiations with Azerbaijan was appointed "Secretary of the Security Council" Samvel Shahramanyan.
The agenda of the meeting on March 1 included the following issues: ensuring uninterrupted gas supply to Karabakh from Armenia; providing access to a high-voltage power line from Armenia to Karabakh and its repair; conducting a one-time visual monitoring by the Azerbaijani side of the territory of the "Gyzylbulag" (Kashen) and "Damirli" (Drombon) mines; full opening of the Lachin road.
The Armenian side was authorized to discuss only these issues, and not the issues of integration of Armenians into Azerbaijan. The issues mentioned in the agenda were discussed and specific agreements were reached. The Azerbaijani side promised to inform its leadership and inform about the results. An agreement was reached to inform the public about the meeting only in general terms.
However, the statements of the head of the Azerbaijani group Ramin Mammadov on the results of the meeting "contained misinformation," in particular, it concerns statements about the "reintegration of the Armenian population into Karabakh Azerbaijan."
The statement that the next meeting of representatives of the parties "may take place in Ganja or Aghdam" without the participation of Russian peacekeeping forces does not correspond to reality, the message says. –0--
