Karabakh is not against technical means to control the Lachin road, but under the control of peacekeepersКарабах не против технических средств для контроля на Лачинской дороге, но под контролем миротворцев
Baku/04.03.23/Turan: The leaders of Karabakh agree to the installation of technical means for control in the Lachin corridor, the "Foreign Minister" of Karabakh Sergey Gazaryan stated on March 3.
The control on the road is carried out by the Russian peacekeeping contingent, and "the Azerbaijani side has no authority to exercise such control," he said.
"If such technical means facilitate the work of Russian peacekeepers, then we can discuss it in a bilateral format, that is, the Artsakh side with Russian peacekeepers. But the Azerbaijani side should not have access to this control procedure, should not be able to receive information from technical control means," the head of Gazaryan said in an interview with Public TV of Armenia.
The ossibility of installing X-ray scanners on the Lachin road was first mentioned by the commander of the peacekeeping forces, General Volkov, back in December 2022.
The current proposal was made by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at a press conference in Baku on February 28 in Baku.
The Azerbaijani side believes that the checkpoint on the Lachin road will be under the control of Baku, and the peacekeepers will ensure general security. ---0---
