Khalaf Khalafov: The issue of "Keshikchidag" will be resolved in the legal plane
Baku/10.05.19/Turan: Official negotiations of the delegation of Azerbaijan and Georgia on border delimitation will be held next week, said the Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Khalaf Khalafov. "
We have been dealing with this issue since 1996 with the Georgian side. From this period, intensive negotiations are underway and 2/3 of the borders are defined," Khalafov said.
According to him, the delimitation of borders is a matter of state level, not of public condemnations.
"This is a serious issue of interstate relations. It does not depend on anyone's statements about religion or history. The issue can only be resolved on a legal plane," he said, expressing his attitude to the situation around the Keshikchidag complex (David Gareji).
According to him, "Azerbaijan and Georgia have been living within these borders for more than 100 years. "During Soviet times and after the collapse of the USSR, we lived within these borders. Naturally, there are relevant legal documents on the existence of these boundaries. Therefore, these issues will be resolved in the legal plane. In addition, there are friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia. Azerbaijan, we are united by a strategic partnership," said Khalafov. -06D--
