On August 13, Ilham Aliyev signed an order "On awarding Azerbaijani athletes and their coaches for high results at the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games in Paris."
According to the document, the winners of the games will be paid bonuses in the amount of 400,000 manats each and 200,000 manats will be received by the coach of each of the gold medalists. The athletes who took the second place will receive 200,000 manats each, and their coaches will receive 100,000 manats each.
The bronze medalists will be paid 100,000 manats each, and their coaches will be paid 50,000 manats each. Azerbaijani athletes won 2 gold and silver medals and three bronze medals each at the Paris Olympics.
Athletes will receive cash bonuses for medals of the Olympic Games in Paris from the Azerbaijani Olympic Committee.
Thus, gold medal winners will receive AZN 200,000 and their coaches AZN 100,000 each.
Silver medalists will receive AZN 100,000 and AZN 50,000 respectively.
For bronze medals - AZN 50,000 and AZN 25,000.
Thus, the total amount of money remuneration for Olympic champions will be AZN 400+200=600,000 (about $353,000), and for their coaches - AZN 200+100,000 ($176,400).
Silver medalists will receive AZN 300+100,000 ($176,400) and their coaches will receive AZN 100+50,000 ($88,200).
Bronze medalists will receive AZN 100+50,000 ($88,200) and their coaches will receive AZN 50+25,000 ($44,100).
Besides, the senior coach of the team for each sport will receive a reward equal to the one received by the personal coach of the medal-winning athlete.
It should be recalled that previously the Olympic medalists received cash bonuses from the head of state twice as much as the remuneration of the country's Olympic Committee.
