The Latvian President Andris Berzins will pay an official visit to Azerbaijan on April 24-25, during which he will hold meetings with the political leadership. They will focus on the expansion of bilateral cooperation, the website of the President of Latvia.
The visit will begin with a meeting with President Ilham Aliyev. The parties will discuss economic cooperation within the framework of Twinning (EU program to strengthen the capacity of government agencies), as well as cooperation in education and science.
April 24 Latvian President will meet with Prime Minister Artur Rasizade and Parliament Speaker Oktay Asadov and will participate in the Azerbaijani-Latvian business forum.
Berzinsh will also visit the industrial park in Sumgait and meet with the Minister of Transport Ziya Mammadov, and will discuss the possibilities of cooperation in the fields of transport and logistics services.
At the conclusion he will meet with the Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov.
The President of Latvia will be accompanied by the ministers of foreign affairs, communications, health and agriculture. -16B-

From 19 to 26 July, 24 automatic rifles, 1 machine gun, 9 rifles, 28 grenades, 441 shells, 3118 cartridges of different calibre and other ammunition were found in Khankendi, the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry reported. President Ilham Aliyev has approved by decree the Azerbaijan-Kazakh intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in military intelligence defense sector. The document was signed in Baku on 7 June 2024.
