Lutfi Zadeh is buried in Baku

Baku / 09.09.17 / Turan: Lutfi Zadeh, Professor of the University of California was buried in Baku, in the First Alley of Honorary Burial on 29 September. The funeral was attended by government officials, representatives of the government, the public, a wreath was placed on behalf of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to the grave of the deceased. Lutfi Zadeh died on September 6 at the age of 96 in the United States.

In August of this year, the professor of the Azerbaijan Technical University Shahnaz Shahbazova was handed a letter to the person in charge of the burial of Lutfi Zadeh in Azerbaijan. In the letter the professor bequeathed to bury him after his death in Azerbaijan.

The Azerbaijani scientist is the founder of the theory of fuzzy logic and the theory of fuzzy sets. Professor of the University of California Lutfi Zade was born in Baku on February 4, 1921. In 1944 he graduated from the Electrical Engineering Department of Tehran University. Lutfi Zadeh from 1944 to 1959 received a master's degree, a doctor at the Masachusetts Institute of Technology and Columbia University. Since 1959, he became a professor at the University of Berkeley. Since 1963 he headed the department of "Electro Engineering and Computer Science". Until recently, Lutfi Zade was working as a lifelong professor of this university and director of the Institute of Soft Computing. -0-
