Madat Guliyevis appointed the first deputy head of the Ministry of National Security
The President of Azerbaijan appointed a 57-year-old Lieutenant-General Madat Guliyev a first deputy minister of national security. Previously he worked for more than two years as head of the Prison Service, and before that worked for many years in the organs of the Interior Ministry, headed by the National Bureau of Interpol, the head of department for combating organized crime.
He was awarded the title of a national hero for not surrendering Ganja city to the rebels of Suret Huseynov in October 1994.
Appointment of Guliyev a first deputy National Security Ministry also means that Hilal Asadov was dismissed from this position. By another decree of the head of state, the structural changes have been made in the MNB, but their essence is not disclosed.—06D-
