Major of Armenian Armed Forces Arrested for Cooperation with Special Services of Azerbaijan
Yerevan / 09.12.15 / Turan- ArmInfo: During search operations the Armenian National Security Service detained Dec. 4 citizen, Major Garik Maroutyan born in 1977.
As the press service of the National Security Council said, Maroutyan, taking over a number of years as chief of intelligence in different military units of the Defense Ministry, through social networks established connection with Azeri special services acting in Turkey. For a fee, he gave them information containing state secrets.
A criminal case has been filed on charges of treason. The investigation is underway. -02D-
