Mammadyarov and Cavusoglu agreed on actions on the Council of Europe
Baku/25.07.18/Turan: Azerbaijani and Turkish foreign ministers Elmar Mammadyarov and Movlut Cavusoglu discussed in Baku issues of cooperation in the Council of Europe. The Head of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE Samad Seyidov took part in the talks. Mammadyarov said this at a joint press conference with Cavusoglu.
"We closely cooperate in all spheres, including the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, despite the fact that this structure increasingly loses its authority. We discussed the developments in the PACE, the steps that we will take in this regard," Cavusoglu said.
The authorities of Azerbaijan and Turkey have recently experienced a crisis in relations with the structures of the Council of Europe because of human rights violations. In the autumn, Turkey stopped financing additional projects of the Council of Europe, which led to a serious limitation of the organization's budget. -03C06--
