Mammadyarov Meets with William Hague
Foreign Ministers of two countries, Elmar Mammadyarov and William Hague, discussed in London the perspectives of development in Azerbaijani-British relations.
According to the the Foreign Ministry’s press service, the ministers also discussed topical issues on the agenda of the UN Security Council. The British minister appreciates the role of Azerbaijan in the energy sector, as well as the contribution to the NATO operation in Afghanistan.
Mammadyarov expressed Azerbaijan's interest in developing cooperation with the United Kingdom in the fields of investment, tourism, education and others. He also informed Mr. Hague on the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, noting the importance Armenian troops withdrawing from Azerbaijani territories in order to resolve the conflict and begin preparations for the Great Peace Agreement. Hague told Mammadyarov that Britain supports the activity of the OSCE Minsk Group for a peaceful settlement of the conflict.
During the working visit to London, Mammadyarov also had meetings at the House of Commons of the British parliament. -06D-
