Member of Board of REAL Interrogated by Prosecutor General`s Office for Five Hours
A Board member of the movement Republican Alternative (REAL) Azer Gasimli for five hours was questioned by the Investigation Department on Grave Crimes of the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan.
According to Gasimli, he was inquired about an employee of the Iranian Embassy visiting the group's office.
Gasimli noted that the meeting was not a secret, and the organization itself issued a message and photos on it. On the other hand, earlier REAL's office was attended by ambassadors and employees of the embassies of the US, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, etc., and all this was reported in the media.
He described the prosecutor's investigation as "an illegal step and executing political orders, pursuing the goal to pressure REAL and Ilgar Mamedov, the leader of the organization, who is still contained in custody contrary to the decision of the European Court of Human Rights. "Interestingly, in September, I was also interrogated in the same administration and the prosecutor's office claimed that we we being financed by the US," Gasimli said.
According to him, on January 30 the executive secretary of REAL Natig Jafarli was also summoned for questioning.
Recall that the day before the prosecutor's office announced the beginning of the investigation into reports of the receipt of money by REAL from an Iranian diplomat.
